Few things in life are more stressful than your website being offline. Fortunately, we have phenomenal uptime so let's work through a little troubleshooting:
Are you seeing an error message? A blank page?
-
If you see an error message such as 403 or 500, your website is online -- but it is broken. If you just made some changes to the website -- new code? WordPress update? -- try undoing the changes to see if that fixes the problem. If these errors are unexpected, open a support ticket and we will help troubleshoot. Be sure to include the error message you're receiving and your IP address.
- If you're seeing an unexpected page in place of your home page, ensure your domain name has not expired.
If none of the above apply, let's figure out what is happening:
- First thing to check, is your ISP offline? Try connecting to a common website like Google or Facebook. Check your router, too.
- Check to see if we're online: status.edigest.com.
- If you're online and we're online, see if the problem is "local:" Is it just me?
- Can you check your website from another ISP? A common problem is getting blocked due to too many invalid login attempts. If you can connect from one ISP but not another, open a support ticket and ask us to see if your IP is blocked. (Do let us know the IP address. ;^)
- If you're still unable to see your website, open a support ticket and we will help troubleshoot.
If possible, before opening a support ticket, run a traceroute and include the results in your support ticket.
