Why use CloudFlare?

CloudFlare provides a CDN (content delivery network) that stores your images, CSS and JS files in 31 datacenters around the world and delivers content to your visitors from the closest datacenter to them.  CloudFlare also filters out "bad" traffic such as bad bots and the some of the worst spammers.

As an eDigest customer, you can also use CloudFlare's RailGun at no cost.  RailGun normally costs $200/month.

On average, CloudFlare allows your website to:

  • load twice as fast
  • use 60% less bandwidth
  • create 65% fewer requests

You can activate CloudFlare through your CPanel -- look for the orange CloudFlare cloud icon -- and CloudFlare will create your own, private CloudFlare account for you.

NOTE:  You must be using our high-reliability DNS cluster to activate CloudFlare through your CPanel.  If you're not using our DNS cluster, open a support ticket to ask how to update your nameservers.

In your CPanel, you can manage basic settings and see statistics for your website.  For more statistics, advance settings and threat control you can visit your CloudFlare account at https://www.cloudflare.com.

Please note, the first time you visit your CloudFlare account after creating it in CPanel you must use the ‘Forgot password’ link to retrieve your password.
